SkinVive by Juviderm® is the first and only hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable treatment that can improve smoothness of the cheeks and neck. It is the ultimate treatment to combat skin that appears crepey and dehydrated – this can be achieved with just one treatment. After applying anaesthetic numbing cream on the skin, this advanced hyaluronic acid is injected using tiny needles superficially into the skin to improve facial skin smoothness. Treatment results can last 6-9 months, producing a vibrant, bright glow to the skin.

Is SkinVive™ Painful?
The treatment is very tolerable and often patients describe only mild discomfort like a mosquito bite. Anesthetic numbing cream is applied to the treatment area on the skin before the injections.
What is the process for the treatment?
At your consultation, Dr. Chao will work with you to identify your treatment areas and goals. After the consultation, you can choose to undergo treatment. The treatment takes about 20-30 minutes.
When can I expect to see results?
Some results can be seen immediately following treatment. As time passes, this treatment provides ongoing skin hydration.
What is the downtime?
Downtime is minimal and may consist of mild redness and bruising at the treated areas which commonly resolves within the first several hours to days. We recommend avoiding the hot tub, sauna, steam room and alcohol for 24 hours after treatment but you can resume most regular activities immediately after treatment.
How many treatments do I need?
Results can be seen after one treatment but the results will not be permanent so we are happy to see you back for repeat treatments.
How long do results last?
SkinVive™ effects are not permanent. Results typically last 6-9 months, after which the effects of SKINVIVE are worn off. If you are happy with your results, we are happy to see you back for your next treatment.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment is not covered by MSP. The cost of the treatment depends on the amount of SkinVive™ needed to achieve your treatment goal. Book a consultation with Dr. Chao to learn more about the cost of the treatment. Please note that Injectable Treatment services are not covered by the BC Medical Services Plan (MSP).
