The Lutronic Ultra laser, masterfully created by a leading Korean aesthetics company, is a non-ablative fractional, resurfacing laser that treats the most common signs of photoaging. It is a safe treatment for all skin colors.
Photoaging is the aging of skin as a result of cumulative sun exposure over our lifetime.
Signs of photoaging include:

Since Ultra is a resurfacing laser, this means Ultra effectively treats uneven skin texture such as acne scars, leading to smoother brighter skin. Active acne can also be safely and effectively treated with this laser.
Ultra laser treatment can be combined with various optional Skin Boosters to enhance results.
These Skin Boosters include:

As a non-ablative fractional laser, this means that the Ultra laser creates tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin using very precise laser energy, leaving neighbouring areas of the skin intact without removing the skin’s surface layer - the result: faster healing and faster recovery with less downtime and less side effects.
Since Ultra targets only water in the skin, you can get Ultra treatments any time of the year, all year-long. Other lasers and IPL (intense pulsed light) target specific pigments such as brown colours. During the summer months when individuals generally have more tanned skin, these lasers and IPL treatments will be unable to distinguish between the pigments intended to be treated versus the surrounding tanned skin, making these other laser treatments and IPL unable to be safely performed during the summer months. Fortunately, treatments can be done safely with the Ultra all year-long, during any season.

Is Ultra laser treatment painful?
The treatment is very tolerable and often patients describe only mild discomfort like a mild sunburn. Numbing cream or anesthetic is optional but can increase comfort.
What is the process for the treatment?
At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Chao will work with you to identify your treatment areas and goals. After the consultation, you can choose to undergo treatment. The treatment takes about 30 minutes but can vary depending on the treatment areas and goals.
When can I expect to see results?
Results can be seen as early as 2-4 weeks after a treatment, with best results following a series of treatments. Dr. Chao can help you determine the optimal number of treatments to achieve your desired results.
What is the downtime?
Downtime is very short and consists of mild redness in the treated areas which resolves in 1-2 days, followed by a light sandpaper texture which resolves after 5-7 days.
How many treatments do I need?
3-5 treatments with 4-6 weeks in between each treatment are typically recommended for the best results. Maintenance treatments to further boost your results can be received every 3-4 months.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment is not covered by MSP. The cost of the treatment depends on the area to be treated and whether topical serums are used as part of the service. Book a complimentary cosmetic skin consultation with Dr. Chao to learn more about the cost of this treatment.
