FoLix™ is a special kind of laser treatment that helps people who are losing their hair. It’s the first fractional laser device that has been cleared by both the FDA and Health Canada to treat hair loss. This means it’s been tested and approved as safe and effective for both men and women.

What is Microneedling?
Microneedling stamps tiny fine microneedles in the skin which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. More collagen and elastin fibres in the skin means tighter, firmer skin.
What is Potenza® Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling?
The first radiofrequency microneedling device safe for all skin colors.
RF microneedling consists of delivering energy in the form of heat from these tiny fine microneedles into the deeper layers of the skin. This combination of microneedling with RF boosts the skin's production of collagen significantly more than microneedling alone - meaning less treatments with bigger results.

Most radiofrequency microneedling devices cannot safely treat darker skin colors. Potenza® IS THE WORLD'S FIRST RF MICRONEEDLING SYSTEM THAT IS SAFE FOR ALL skin colors, anywhere on the body and during any time of the year.
Various topical serums (e.g. exosomes) can be delivered into the skin with microneedling. However, only 1-5% of these serums are typically absorbed by the skin when most conventional radiofrequency microneedling devices are used. The

Is microneedling painful?
The treatment is very tolerable and often patients describe only mild discomfort like a mild sunburn. Topical numbing cream is applied on the treatment area 30 minutes before radiofrequency microneedling to ensure you have a comfortable experience.
What is the process for the treatment?
At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Chao will work with you to identify your treatment areas and goals. After the consultation, you can choose to undergo treatment. The treatment takes about 30 minutes but can vary depending on the treatment areas.
When can I expect to see results?
Some results can be seen as early as 2 weeks following one microneedling treatment; however, the best, longer term results are typically seen after 3-4 treatments at the recommended intervals.
What is the downtime?
Downtime is minimal and consists of mild redness with potentially pinpoint spots of blood on the treated area. The redness typically resolves after two hours after treatment. You can resume regular activities immediately after treatment but using sunscreen is advised.
How many treatments do I need?
3-4 treatments with 4 weeks in between each treatment are typically recommended for the best results. Following this series of 3-4 treatments, a maintenance treatment is recommended every 6-12 months.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment is not covered by MSP. The cost of the treatment depends on the area to be treated and whether topical serums are used as part of the radiofrequency microneedling. Book a consultation with Dr. Chao to learn more about the cost of the treatment.
